Yesterday the Houston Texans completed one roster transaction, with the release of veteran DL Alex Carrington. Carrington was signed last week to the active 90 man roster and did see some playing time against the New Orleans Saints. The transaction listed the release as “injury waiver”. When Carrington was signed; his contract included an injury waiver. The injury waiver allows the team to release the player without injury protection if the injury is common with what is written in the contract. The Texans were able to release Carrington and have zero dead money associated with the transaction.
