The Texans completed two transactions today with the active roster:
- Soma Vainuku (FB) was waived/injured by the team from the active roster. Vainuku will be subject the waivers; but likely will not be claimed. Once Vainuku clears waivers he will revert back to the Texans’ Reserve/Injured list. Vainuku will have a split salary of $333,000; and will have 5 business days to complete an injury settlement with the team.
- Alex Carrington (DE) was signed to the active roster. Carrington was drafted in 2010 by the Buffalo Bills; however finished the 2013 season on the Reserve/Injured list. The details of the contract are not known, but expect it to be a one year contract worth $760,000 that qualifies for the minimum salary benefit with a cap charge of $600,000.
*Update August 17th, Vainuku cleared waivers and is now on the Reserve/Injured List.*
